Addiction in a welfare state..

Theres an estimated 25.000 drug addicts and alcoholics in Denmark, (a population of just 5 1/2 million)

More than 5000 are homeless

Each year, it’s estimated that between 250 and 350 people die, as a consequence of their addiction. That is the third highest mortality rate in Europe, only exceeded by Luxemborg and Estonia.

‘Fix rooms’ for addicts have been discussed in the media recently and the issue is being debated in parliament. A recent poll indicated that 81 percent of the public support the establishment of fix rooms, where addicts could take drugs in the safety of medically-regulated conditions.
